The busy fall season is underway with my fall shows & Christmas markets. A very successful Calyx Art Show on Oct 22nd set the tone for the season (I hope?).
The Calyx Art Show shows many varieties of artwork displayed like a gallery setting. Wander the Crescent Heights Community Hall with lots of natural light to view hundreds of original artworks from 25 different artists each day. Paintings of all media, sketches, inks, pottery, jewellery, fibre arts, hand dyed fabrics, wood works, ceramics and more. A big hip hip horray for the ladies that put this amazing show on twice annually! Save the date – the next show is scheduled for April 22 & 23, 2017. http://www.calyx.ca
My next show is the Millarville Christmas Market – this year, a whopping 4 day weekend of shopping at the Millarville Race Track! Shows run Thursday Nov 10th & Friday Nov 11th 12:00-8:00 both days, Saturday Nov 12th & Sunday Nov 13th 10:00-5:00 both days. Admission $5 (children 12 & under, 65+ free), on Nov 11th, all service members in uniform have free admission. Vendors are both inside and outside at this wide variety show.
They now have an abundance of additional parking areas surrounding the grounds, with free transportation into the event!
You’ll enjoy four fabulous days of lights, food, hay rides, photos with Santa or his Reindeer, roasted chestnuts, glass blowing demonstrations, live nativity, carolers, music, crafts, and many of your favourite seasonal vendors. Family activities starting at 11:00am daily.
Following that great lineup is the Kananaskis Country Christmas at Redwood House, Redwood Meadows 1 Manyhorses Drive behind the firehall. Friday evening is the locals sneak a peek with wine & cheese, open to the public are 2 full days of handmade goodness with over 40 vendors- Saturday Nov 19th & Sunday Nov 20th from 10:00-5:00 both days. This year, the focus is on handmade & local. You will also find home cooked treats, jams, sauces and fresh produce. It’s never a disappointment. And a bonus, this show runs the same weekend as the Artisans of Bragg Creek just 5 mins away at the Bragg Creek Community Centre, making it worth the drive west of Calgary. Child care is offered by donation for children 2+.
I’m very excited about the Etsy Calgary “One Stop Christmas Shop” this year, as an active member and international seller on Etsy. For those that haven’t experienced the world of Etsy, it is an online market comprised on individual shops – all handmade or vintage categories. This event will take place on Sunday Nov 27th from 9:00-5:00 at the Golden Acre Garden Sentre, 620 Goddard Ave, Calgary. Admission is $3 (children 12 & under free). Also on site is Santa and a photo booth!
And that wraps up my fall & Christmas show lineup this season. Hoping to see some of you there?
Have a wonderful fall! Nicole
