It’s hard to find our natural groove when there are so many distractions. I, myself, want to try everything and be great at it all. I am a jack of all trades, but specialize in none. A little dabble in this and that. Maybe my instinct is to learn and get the most out of life while I’m here. I know what I like, but how to choose only a few is difficult. But really, do you know who you are and what your natural groove feels like?
What is one thing that you have always wanted to do or learn about? Any passion no matter how strange is seems….is it playing the harmonica? Singing children’s songs? Dancing the Rumba? Writing a screenplay? Pottery on a wheel? Walking the great wall of China? Growing hibrid plants? Climbing a tree just to get the coconut? What passion brings you joy and peacefulness? What makes you happy or gives you total relaxation?
Part of finding you natural groove is sharing it with others. We see so many different styles come and go. But lately, I see grunge, goth, boho, neon 80’s, glamour….I saw a 12 year old wearing a fedora the other day and did it ever look good on him. It just suited his personality. He had his natural groove on. Me, well, I love to wear a ball cap, then the next day I could be in a sarong, I might wear an asian looking outfit, then I’ll try to be hip, dressing up one day. I may just wear my “love child” outfits, sometimes my wool capped hat with pigtails out the side like a little girl. But most often, you’ll see me in my bandana and hair coming out the back. If you could stick me out on a ranch or in the woods where I didn’t have to dress up or do my hair, I would be as happy as slug on a rainy day. Let me swim in the natural waters with leeches, I don’t care. So, even though I love many styles and cultures, I know my natural groove is my signature bandana. It is being deep in nature. It is finding quiet. Eating homemade delicious food. Being with a few close friends and family. It is creating beautiful things…there is never enough time.
